Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of brand is ROAV?
ROAV makes the world’s thinnest foldable sunglasses, which you can easily carry in your pocket or small wallet (folded into the handy compact case). A true must-have for anyone who wants to have sunglasses on hand at all times and use them whenever needed. Whether on the beach, terrace, or slopes — on a boat, bike, or in the car — in spring, summer, autumn, or winter; you can have your ROAV with you everywhere. Hence the slogan: Anywhere • Eyewear.
How does the product work?
In just a few seconds, you can unfold a ROAV sunglasses from its case into a fully wearable pair — and fold it back just as quickly. Don’t forget to also unfold the nose pads for added comfort. You can also gently bend the temple tips slightly for a better fit. Do this carefully — no brute force needed. This way you can adjust them completely to your liking. And we can assure you: once you have a ROAV, you won’t want to be without one! That is the most common thing we hear.
Wearing your ROAV for the first time? Tip: check whether the protective film has been removed from the lenses. It makes a big difference.
Note: if you want to return your ROAV, the protective film must still be on the lenses. Only remove it if you are sure you want to keep it.
Are there frames for men and women?
All ROAV frames are unisex and can be worn by anyone, but some have a more masculine or feminine look. For example, the Echo model has a straighter shape, which often suits men better. The Barbra, with its subtle butterfly shape and upward-angled corners, has a softer, rounder look that often suits women better. The Virgil model, on the other hand, is popular with both men and women thanks to its bold design. Also check the descriptions of each model for nose type recommendations: some frames are perfect for wider noses, while others suit narrower noses better. This can help you choose the right frame!

Here are the main points to keep in mind:
1. Never leave your sunglasses in direct sunlight on your car dashboard — temperatures there can easily reach 50–60°C (120–140°F).
2. Do not sit on your sunglasses, as this can put stress on the lens coating and cause damage.
3. Prevent sand or other dirt from getting into the storage pouch, as this can also scratch the lenses.
4. Clean the lenses with the included microfiber cloth (never use paper tissues).
5. Fold and unfold your sunglasses according to the instructions in the included booklet.

How do I best care for my ROAV?
Keep your ROAV in top condition with these tips! Clean your sunglasses with the included microfiber cloth and a special lens spray to safely remove dirt and smudges. Avoid paper tissues or clothing, as these can cause scratches. Keep your ROAV away from harsh substances such as hairspray, perfume, or cleaning products, which can damage the coating. Always store your sunglasses in the included pouch when not wearing them, to prevent damage from drops or pressure. Be careful not to accidentally sit on your sunglasses, even when folded inside the pouch, as this can damage the lenses and coating. Avoid extreme temperatures, such as inside a hot car, to prevent damage to the frame and coating. Use both hands to put on and take off your ROAV, so the frame keeps its shape. Wearing your sunglasses while exercising or sleeping is not a good idea, as this can deform the frame.
What material are the lenses made of?
All lenses are polarized and filter glare from the sun when you use your ROAV on the slopes, on the water, in the car, and anywhere the sun shines. With full protection against harmful UVA + UVB rays and anti-glare polarization in every pair, your eyes will feel comfortable and well-protected. The lenses are made from polycarbonate and are therefore virtually unbreakable. Extreme temperature changes also have no effect on polycarbonate.
What material are the frames made of?
The frames are made of stainless steel and feature screwless hinges, formed through a press-fit process. They are finished with a scratch-resistant ion-plating, which gives them a durable and sleek design. Every component works together perfectly, making opening and closing the frame feel smooth and almost automatic. Every detail has been thought through: how the frame folds, the temple tips that protect the lenses, and even the foldable nose pads. This makes the frame truly unique — once you’ve used it, you won’t want to be without it!
Did you know that all ROAV models are completely screwless? No more hassle with missing or loose screws!
What makes ROAV unique?
Pocketable: A ROAV is truly pocketable — the days of bulky cases and sunglasses falling out of your shirt collar are over. ROAV sunglasses fold down to fit in the slimmest jeans pocket or smallest wallet. Folded in its case, it is just as thin (9mm) as a smartphone and half the size.
Remarkably Durable: Our patented micro hinges are pressed into the stainless steel frame, unlike traditional sunglasses hinges that are soldered or riveted. Fewer breakable parts means fewer broken sunglasses.
Weightless Comfort: No more painful noses or constant slipping. Our frames are laser-cut from ultra-thin stainless steel and weigh less than 20 grams, so you might forget you have them on.
Polarized & Protective: Great frames deserve great lenses. With full protection against harmful UVA + UVB rays and anti-glare polarization in every pair, your eyes will feel comfortable and well-protected.
Our Micro Hinge: A miniature marvel of epic proportions. The most advanced sunglasses hinge ever developed is ultra-durable, screwless, spring-loaded, and tiny.
Can I return my ROAV?
Absolutely, no problem! Whether it is not quite what you were looking for or you ordered multiple colors to try, you can return your ROAV within 14 days of purchase. There are a few conditions to ensure you receive a full refund:

2. Do not forget to include the original packaging, including the included items (2 booklets, bag with extra nose pads, and microfiber cloth).
3. Please download and fill in (clearly legible) the return form. This helps us process your return faster. Print it out and include it in your return shipment.
